Intake

Rivers, lakes, reservoirs, and other intake sources fluctuate considerably. Our Vertical Pumps draw water from below grade without any risk of flooding the motor. No priming is required because the impellers are semi- or fully submerged (depending on the model) and can withstand water fluctuations as long as the bowls stay covered.

Johnston Pumps’ JT municipal water treatment pump can be mounted on sedimentation basins, filters, and desalination systems to easily move water between treatment stages. Although the JT has a smaller footprint, it can still consistently handle high flow rates with minimal maintenance.

Our JT and JP Vertical Pumps are designed to handle high-pressure pumping applications and flood control. They generate high heads (up to 350 ft., depending on the model) while still drawing from a below-grade clearwell, and their narrow footprint allows multiple units to be installed side by side within existing infrastructure for redundancy.

It doesn’t require priming because its bowl assembly is submerged, is designed to fit a wide range of existing infrastructure due to its small footprint, and it features low operating speeds and staged pressure options, handling flows up to 25,000 GPM.
